Lane Simkins, Indian Run
In her latest EP, The Process, she asks questions about life, death, faith and doubt, inviting the listener to do the same.
Heavily influenced by great storytellers like Bob Dylan and Carole King, Sharon delivers melancholy indie rock with a hint of southern charm.
Often found barefoot with coffee in hand, New Jersey based singer songwriter, Lane Simkins, offers listeners an honest and raw experience through his fresh lyricism and musicality. With a sound that portrays a 100% USDA certified organic gluten free indie/folk/rock vibe, Lane’s tunes tell real stories that provide a transparent glimpse of life’s struggles and wins.
Heralding from Southern New Jersey, Indian Run is the envisionment of multi-instrumentalist and producer Shane Becker.
Indian Run relies heavily upon a natural aesthetic of the culmination of different soundscapes, to which Becker says, “It’s like Bon Iver… and Brand New had a child.” The influences don’t stop there. Becker grew up listening from a wide array of bands, and draws influences from bands such as Radiohead, Phil Collins, Copeland, and even Kanye West. These different influences end up creating a natural eighties influenced ambient indie rock, unique in its own right. The soundscape of Indian Run has formed via Becker’s experimentation with the producing, writing, and recording of his own music, everything from instrumental albums to eighties inspired pop songs.
